Fabric Love from Intrepid Thread

I'm super excited for this day to come.

So now that I feel all grown up and have my social media in my back pocket it's time to party!

To help me celebrate me getting over my social media fears, Julie from Intrepid Thread is sponsoring a giveaway right here, right now.

How exciting that Julie is changing things up as well.  A brick-and-mortar shop is shaping right up.  I'm super sad I can't go check it out myself.

If you haven't shopped at Intrepid Thread, ohhh your missing out. Julie has been enabling  supplying shipping me some awesome fabric {at lighting speed} for awhile now.

I got my reprint of FMF from her {that I haven't had the heart to cut into yet}, Heirloom, Cameo, and some others {I'm stopping my list now as my fella reads my blog on occasion}.

I assure you there are other fabrics I've purchased from Julie that I've put into action! I get to show even more soon {if I ever finish this triangle toddler quilt}.

Julie is so awesome and offering up some awesome Notting Hill by my favorite Joel Dewberry to be hoarded sent to one of my followers. That's 3 yards right there!

HOW TO ENTER
{now closed}

Go check out Julie's awesome shop and come back and leave a comment about what fabric you're drooling over AND what pattern you're looking to make from it.  Yeah, I'm fishing for ideas.  You can't ever have too many ideas ... right?

I am trying out a rafflecopter giveaway, so bear with me. To enter, simply click below on the widget.  This will for sure help me grow into my social media shoes.

Local fiber love

I not only have this lovely blog and meet some fantastic people but I've met some local people too.

One is particular lives just down the street
Really. . . we live on the same small town road.

3DTP
Photo from Becky at Solar Threads
Becky who blogs over at Solar Threads is an amazing artist that I've been able to not only do a few sewing days but I've been able to be inspired to do some different projects with too.

Specifically I'm going to shamelessly copy her Tula Pink quilt with her quick and dirty tutorial found here.

This is truly amazing in person!  I can see why she won second place in the Sew Sweetness Tula Pink Sew Along

Oh look I have the same fabrics just waiting to be made in the same quilt!
{Muhahaha}

Becky is selling a few quilts over in her ebay storeThese end on Sunday. Go check them out if your looking for a perfect quilt - just in time for the holidays!

Becky is so awesome that we're even going to venture to the local quilt guild together. . I'm scared to try it alone. I'm so happy to have someone there to calm my nerves!

Share the love!

WIP Wednesday 11.28.12

Remember how I said I kicked it this weekend. . I did!

I made a few blocks.  4 to be exact but after I took the photos of 2 of them, I realized that I put the corners on WRONG.  Sigh.

But I will share the two that I pieced together correctly :)

Rail Fence - Curve it Up QAL Block 2

These are from the Curve it Up QAL from Sew Kind of Wonderful

Rail Fence - Curve it Up QAL Block 1

I followed the amazing tutorial for the Curved Rail Fence found over here.

I loved these. They are HUGE blocks when finished.  So much fantastic inspiration over at the flickr group. I know that I have 2 started but I want a few other color ways in this now.

I worked on another curve project with the Quick Curved Ruler, but I'm going to share that with you this weekend or next week during the giveaway week from Sew Mama Sew. I have been kicking it - really really.

What else am I working on?

I'll be working from my works in progress (WIP) list from the 100-day hustle including:
Knitted baby blanket - so slow it hasn't been out the bag in a week
Quilt-top for the friends toddler - halfway quilted. . lalala STILL
Commission quilt - slow but steady
PJ pants for fella - no a lick on this one
Quilt top put together from Block Party - lalalala
Matching sock to a lone sock - what . . what is this?
I'm linking up to Lee over at Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday.

    WIP Wednesday 11.21.12

I love when I have a few hours that I have free and that I actually get to accomplish something.

    Monday I finally FINALLY FINALLY
    finished my postage stamp quilt.

    The top is DONE! Yippee!

Because of when the sun sets and all that jazz I can't seem to find a good time to take a photo.  Oh and it's been raining like it's the west side - yuck! :)

I'm in shock and awe that I finally got something checked off my list for the 100-day hustle.
    I really do love lists . .
    I think.

I'll be working on more projects this weekend - yipee!
I may do a sew-in with Becky that blogs over at Solar Threads.
She is so talented!  And sewing may (or may not) prevent me from spending money.

I'll be working from my works in progress (WIP) list from the 100-day hustle including:
Knitted baby blanket - slowly but surely
Quilt-top for the friends toddler - halfway quilted. . lalala
Commission quilt - this is up NEXT BABY!
PJ pants for fella - going to have my fella help me with this one!
Quilt top put together from Block Party
Matching sock to a lone sock

Other projects that I'm working on but not on the above list includes my stripper row - love my private strip club! A few holiday gifts.
AND I get to make fabric napkins.  .super excited!

    One seam at a time

I haven't had much time to sew the last few weeks.

Car traveling w/ crafts all around me! Blanket, scarf, birdie sling, and in the corner a pouch
    A little traveling

And it seems like there are just so many other things to do in a day.
Oh such a hard life being held down at lunchtime
Like being held down by my ferocious cat.  Oh the tragedy!

I finally dragged my tired butt into the sewing room and picked out some fabric for a few granny squares.

Oh these were so fast and fun to make.

These are the last bee blocks for me for an unknown time.  Lovely Granny Squares from this tutorial. This {sadly} finishes off my participation in the Bee a {modern} Swapper group.

This poor little girl is tilted so she could keep her pincushion nearby.  We all need one of those. . right!

And I grabbed out of my Heather Ross goodies for this beauty!

I'll be sending these to jmcbroom sometime soon.

I am linking up to {Sew} Modern Monday ♥

What are did you accomplish this weekend or were you able to wonk on this lovely Monday?

    Hurricane Sandy blocks

Most of the time I don't feel like I can finish a project.
So instead I help where I can.

Jennifer over at Knotted Thread wanted to help some families that were in the recent Hurricane Sandy on the east coast.

So, I sent these blocks to Hawaii. :)
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/h2ogirl76/8159481031/
    Aren't they great.

We used this tutorial and the flickr group is found over here.

If you didn't get on the block making love, go check out the thread to donate binding. to finish up the 15-20 quilts being made with our help!

I adore this wonderful quilting community!

    Half-way through the 100-day hustle

    Seriously half-way through the hustle.
Whaaa we started in Sept?  Here is my original post.

NO way near that much through my totally do-able list.
    Pfft!
    Hello life - rushing by!

Not a big deal.  This goal setting activity is just up my alley actually.  I love lists.

I think I need a shorter time framed list.
    More done!  That's what I want - don't you!

    ~~
Well, let's review and summaries where I am. . .

    1. Knitted baby blanket I worked on this a bit. . I have about a ball and 1/3 left to go.

    2. Quilt-top for the same friends toddler I've basted this and have 1/2 of it machine quilted. . can't wait to share! :)
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/h2ogirl76/8168430906/

    3. Commission quilt I totally started this . . . it rocks!!

    4. Postage Stamp quilt top I blogged about this here. It's still on my design board - kinda.  It's occupying the lower half.  That means it's still on my mind - this is good.

    5. PJ pants for fella   Yeah . . . la - la - la.  Actually my fella talked about being able to cut these out.  That would be awesome. :)  So no movement but there's good intentions and conversations on this one.

    6. Quilt top put together from Block Party Nope. . but I know exactly where these are living at the moment.  I think I found 3 more completed blocks!  That totally rocks!

    7. Matching sock to a lone sock Nope - I don't even know where the ball of yarn is.  {Hangs head in shame}

I'm linking up to Kelsey for the mid-point check in.

This past year I've been a winner.  I have to admit it's super fun!
Not only do I have a GO! Baby in my quilting arsenal.
    It's awesome!

I've won some lovely minky from the designer herself over at Red Fish Circle.
It's sitting waiting for 2 projects.
One is a minky blanket and
the other is for the back of a unknown baby quilt.

Oh and a few winnings of Aurifil thread {my fav} from Patchwork Notes and Ellison Lane Quilts
Oh these are always in rotation in my sewing room!

A mug rug from the uber talented Jenna over at Sew Happy Geek
This helped me to start using black in my sewing life. . . it's awesome.
