Liberty Stile Pillow Challenge

I'm showing the pillow cover I created!

Can you believe that I've never made a pillow cover?

I have now, and I'm in love!
Sew Mama Sew put out a call on their newsletter, and I was chosen to sew up some Liberty Stile fat quarter pillow challenge.

You know the Stile Liberty collection from Liberty Art Fabrics.
When these beauties were fluttering their way into my sewing area the ideas were flowing.
Here they are when they hit my mailbox.
#libertypillowchallenge @sewmamasew and it begins! ♡♥♡♥♡♥

It was only a bit and I created this front.

I even threw in a little hand stitching in the center.

Oh, and to make it into a pillow with an envelope back ... soooo easy. I used this tutorial  {on Sew Mama Sew - of course}.

And add piping, also from the tutorial on Sew Mama Sew.

You want to see the front piping, too? Ohhhh, OK.

You can see my echo quilting in this photo.

So it wasn't until I got this entirely finished and I found a little mistake in my block placements, but I don't mind!

I had an issue that I made this pillow cover because I made it for a larger pillow that did not live in my house.  I searched my limited selections in the local area and struck out.  Soooooo I took a standard  sleeping pillow, cut 5 inches from the long side, extracted some of the filling, closed it back up, and tada - pillow form! At 1/3 of the price I may add.

I'm not the only one who got some fabric!  Head over to Sew Mama Sew and check all of us out! *Next week there will be a re-cap*

Now that it's photographed, my step-daughter has officially claimed it. Ahhh, the pillow is loved.
