Totes all around - Sew Sew Modern 4

I love being parts of swaps.

This time round I finally jumped into Sew Sew Modern 4.

I love my noodlehead Super Tote and why not make a few more!

So I made my partner a tote from this awesome pattern. I'm thinking this is my 2nd time round.




This is one of the outside pockets.  Seriously a 12" block works really well for these!  WHOOP!




I nearly botched this by cutting the pattern pieces before quilting.
Quilt then cut!  Learn from me.

Well it was a swap.  And here's what I got in return.

I was so uber lucky to have a fantastic partner Purple Panda Quilts

I adore Lyanna and she just blew my mind!

Such great details on this beauty.

The recessed zipper, which I have yet to attempt;
piping, which I've yet to attempt on this bag;
QAYG pockets ..& TWO perfect pockets I might add!


Her bag is sturdy for sure.  I love it and it's wearing perfectly.

There is some curry lining, Joel Dewberry, Tula Pink, AND some Denyse Schmidt.
And oh and yes I got some of the scraps too.

She pretty much knew me inside and out. She's a fantastic stalker down to the lip balm.

I'm gleefully sporting this beauty all round with me now!!

And now the story...

I got these lovely fabrics as I'm an individual member of the MQG.  

So I have been pondering for months!  Oh dear since October!!

I tried this block with some solids earlier this month and was happy but not enough to go forward with a larger project.  

Then I just jumped and make this wall hanging.

That's right . . I started yesterday!  Ugh!

Well first I misplaced my Pfaff face-plate for anything other than straight stitch, and then I found that my other machine I have set up .. is missing some feet. Important feet I may tell you.  Still all missing by the way. But I got it. . it's all good.  I basted this beauty and let it sit for today.

And then. . the cat!  Oh the cat.  

Apparently he thinks that Washington's birthday means he gets all the attention.  At one point I had in in my lap while I was stitching.  

HOURS I fought with the cat but finally got down to binding.

And now...

A wall hanging

I'm super proud of my growth with my FMQ.  It's so perfect in my eyes.

A finish means I get to go shower.

Can you believe Katy suggested putting a bomb off in the room but can you imagine all the pretty fabric harmed. . . ohhh dear.

So here are my First Quarter Goals.  Don't laugh.

1. My Sew Sew Modern 4 swap tote. 

Using my favorite pattern.

2. My wall hanging for my brother and sister in laws. 

 It's all basted and ready to rock and roll.  {cough}
Also my January ALYoF goal posted (with the link up forYOU here)

3. My Skedaddle quilt.  This is way farther along than this but have been asked not to post more.



I already have the backing for this beauty.. whoop. I'll see if my plan for quilting this project will work.

4. My Modern Quilt Guild project. 



OMG the deadline for this is coming up and Melissa is way farther along on this than I am. SIGH.

5. Make this beauty into a wall hanging.  It's a tester but it's adorable.

It would be a great usable gift!

6. My Starburst along

This would need a backing. . I think.  Yeah it's in the above pile! I am not even sure about this one.

7. My Nordica Quilt.

A few hours and this one would be DONE.

10. My commission quilt from a high school friend.  

 This is so lovely and so ready to be out of my house.

This is yet another awesome beauty that is sitting in my pile.

This is great practice and now I have thread again.  I can get to this.

This isn't even touching my bee quilts.  That will be for another quarter! 

Oh and I'm going to start de-stashing - yarn and fabric! I've started on Instagram!!!
